Description
Although famous for their hollow and semi hollow electric guitars and, of course, the fabled ‘violin’ bass,
Hofner produced some lesser known but fascinating classical guitars, such as the flamenco guitar shown here:
While this guitar has been well played in its 60 year + lifetime, it plays very comfortably, stays in tune and offers an attractive array of tones
A relatively austere cedar top is visually complimented by a subtly flamed maple back and sides
The guitar has no structural issues and has avoided breaks/damage, remaining playable and effortlessly exuding the kind of character missing from most modern instruments
Original features include the machine heads – still working to a high standard – the 3-ply top nut, and, peculiar to Hofner, a zero fret keeping the action low and accessible
Weighs just 2.6lbs
