Superb condition and, at the asking price, a bargain
Built in 2000 for NAMM as a showcase guitar to demonstrate the then new Closet Classic series, at the time Fender’s latest addition to the Custom Shop and rarely found in the UK, positioned between the NOS (New Old Stock) and Relic ranges.
This guitar remained in situ at the Fender Custom Shop until purchased by a US dealer in 2010: it comes with a 2010 certificate and paperwork detailing the guitar’s origins and development (images to follow)
The guitar also features a spectacular flame maple neck handmade by John Cruz at the Custom Shop specifically for this prototyle guitar, before Fender started offering ‘Masterbuilt’ models
