Rare very good condition 1975 MK53

Spruce top with maple back and sides

Maple neck with rosewood fingerboard

25.5″ scale length

Frets are original: sporting the low profile typical of the time, they are in very good condition with just the second fret showing minimal evidence of wear. This doesn’t affect playability, the guitar plays cleanly across the fretboard.

The MK53 was made for only four years, 1975-79, as part of Gibson’s Mark Series acoustic range.
Gibson Mark Series guitars are relatively hard to come by in the UK and this example represents an opportunity to obtain a vintage Gibson at an affordable price.
Vintage Guitar Magazine reviewed a ’75 MK53 back in 2006 with the words,
‘The Mark 53 is a fine guitar. It’s got the big, tight, booming sound you’d expect from a well-made jumbo, bright and crisp as you’d want from a maple guitar.’

Comes with a non-original (Martin) case
